Take a Journey on Route 66 at This Comprehensive Exhibit

The Pauly Friedman Art Gallery at Misericordia University invites you to take a geographical and historical tour down of one of the world’s most iconic highways in “America’s Road: The Journey of Route 66,” an exhibition of photographs, narratives, music, and vintage replicas and restorations.

Organized by NRG! Exhibits, “America’s Road” shares the history of and fascination with the 2,448-mile thoroughfare that cuts a path through eight states from Illinois to California. From its beginnings in 1926 to its heyday in the mid-twentieth century, this road witnessed innovations and changes in the built environment as small-town economies thrived on motorists using Route 66, earning the road its nickname as the “Main Street of America.”

Through the interactive elements of the exhibition, visitors can test their knowledge of artists from the 50’s to the ‘80s who performed the iconic song, “Route 66,” as well as see what it might have been like to watch a movie at an old-fashioned drive-in theatre. Best of all, admission is free to the public.

At B' nai B' rith Apartments in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, we believe it’s important to integrate yourself into the community, which is why we suggest attending this event. Meeting new people, having unfamiliar experiences, and joining neighborhood activities is the key to an exceptional lifestyle.
