Build Something Beautiful with Bonsai During This Engaging Workshop

The Sordoni Art Gallery is an innovative educational exhibition space. The gallery offers students and the local community a creative learning experience by providing rich programming, workshops, lectures, and year-round exhibitions featuring diverse, internationally recognized artists.

As an educational institution, the Sordoni Gallery is in the unique position to explore challenging subjects and current events that would not be explored in commercial spaces. The criteria for selecting exhibitions include artistic excellence, engaging programming, attention to aesthetic and cultural diversity within the campus and community, and provide a reflection of the NEPA region.

Now, in a fun and educational workshop with Carl Achhammer Jr. of Zenchaser Bonsai, participants will create their own bonsai to enjoy for years to come. Using a ficus retusa, attendees will plant, trim, and wire their tree, learning about different tools and basic styling techniques. All materials are included in the price of the workshop, and include a tree, pot, soil, and wire.

Workshop registration is required! The cost is 75-dollars for Sordoni Art Gallery Members and 85-dollars for non-members. All checks can be made out to Carl Achhammer, Jr—and don’t forget to contact nicole.lewis1@wilkes.edu to register!
